During the visit to the military unit, one of the compulsory military servicemen informed the representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office that he had a health issue related to nasal septum. The commander of the military unit informed that the soldier would be transferred to a military hospital, but after being transferred to the hospital the serviceman informed that the surgery would not be carried out because of the hospital overload.
The Defender’s Office has started a discussion procedure based on the oral complaint of the serviceman in the framework of which the Defender’s Office contacted the competent officials and a letter was addressed to the Ministry of Defense.
As a result of the activities undertaken during the investigation of the complaint, as well as cooperation between the respective officials of the Defender's Office and the Ministry of Defense, the military serviceman was transferred to military hospital, undergone a surgery after which he received a leave.
