By the special invitation of the RF Commissioner for Human Rights, the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan participated in the parliamentary hearings dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Institution of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
During the event, discussions on current issues in the field of protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, ensuring the rights of citizens in foreign countries, the draft federal law on general principles of the organization of activities of human rights commissioners in RF subjects, and on a number of other issues were held.
Arman Tatoyan made a speech during the parliamentary hearings, presented the vision of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia on the Constitution, the rule of law and the role of Ombudsman as a constitutional institution.
The event was attended by the Presidents of the Standing Committees of the Russian State Duma, members of the State Duma, Human Rights Commissioners of the RF subjects, representatives of the federal bodies of the executive branch, the Council on the Human Rights and Civil Society Development Issues adjunct to the RF President, the RF Civic Chamber and the state authorities of RF subjects, as well as Ombudsmen of foreign countries and representatives of international organizations.
