There are victims among journalists as a result of clashes which took place in Khorenatsi street and adjacent areas at night.
This is reprehensible not only as a manifestation of violence, but also as a negative phenomenon from the perspective of obstructing the performance of professional duties by a mass media representative.
Obstruction of a journalist’s professional duties is a criminally punishable act, irrespective of whether the perpetrator of the act is a state official, participant of the demonstration or a citizen. In this respect, all the materials in our possession are going to be sent to respective authorities of criminal prosecution.
We ask everyone in possession of unpublished videos or information on violence towards journalists to send those materials to us, so that the actions taken by the Human Rights Defender within his competence are prioritized.
