A citizen applied to the Human Rights Defender, raising a question regarding her employment conditions.
According to the application filed to the Defender, the applicant had been working in one of the libraries in Yerevan for many years, but the director of the library transferred the applicant to another branch. The citizen states that her disability degree and difficulties associated with getting to the other branch were disregarded, and the request to be transferred back to the former branch was rejected.
The Human Rights Defender’s Office found that there had been a restriction to the implementation of the citizen’s employment right and sent the case to Yerevan Municipality for examination. As a result of cooperation with the Municipality, the librarian continued employment in the former branch.
