The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan visited communities of Ararat region yesterday. In April, during a visit to police detention facilities to protect the participants' rights, the Defender also had a private conversation with a resident of Aygepat village, who raised also the issue of irrigation water in the community and requested the Defender's support.
During the meeting with the Defender, the residents of the community also raised issues related to the absence of kindergarten and community enlargement. Arman Tatoyan noted that he will be attentive towards solutions of the issues within his mandate.
In Berkanush, another village of Ararat region, the residents discussed with the Defender the process of the complaint sent to the Office earlier.
The problem is that the road leading from the community to the pastures and to the cultivated lands has been destroyed due to the construction of the North-South highway, and the residents have to cut off several villages in order to reach their territories.
The Defender promised to organize a discussion with the stakeholders to find a temporary and final solutions.
Earlier, after the Defender's visit to the commuinities of Tavush Province, a number of issues raised by the residents have been solved with the Defender’s support: eye surgery, tutition fee, nose surgery of a military serviceman and other issues.
