Yesterday, on June 19, the representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office conducted unannounced visits to Yerevan-Kentron, Prison Hospital and Vardashen penitentiary institutions of the Ministry of Justice, as well as Yerevan police detention facility.
Private interviews were held with persons deprived of liberty, including with several people deprived of liberty who were on hunger strike, issues related to medical assistance provided to them were examined and necessary consultation was provided.
The detention conditions of persons in the mentioned places, the state of ensuring their rights, their compliance to the established requirements, as well as documents related to complaints were also examined.
Respective measures will be undertaken based on the results of the visit aimed at resolving the recorded issues.
