The Human Rights Defender’s Office initiated discussion procedure on the basis of mass media publications about broken manhole close to the “Dream House” rehabilitation center for children.
Following discussions with the head of the “Dream House” rehabilitation centre for children, it was revealed that due to failure by “Veolia Water” CJSC to repair the manhole close to the Centre, the wastewater often hinders the children’s rehabilitation process. Consequently, they have to make regular payments for temporary cleaning.
As a result of joint efforts with RA Public Services Regulatory Commission, “Veolia Water” CJSC carried out cleaning and prophylactic washing of wastewater pipes of 5 manholes near building 59, Halabyan Street, as well as repaired the manhole in front of the second entrance of the building.
