Vardan Geravetyan, Tigran Manukyan and Vardges Gevorgyan ended the hunger strike

Today, the representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office have made another unannounced visit to Nubarashen penitentiary institution of RA Ministry of Justice.

 

They had a private conversation with Tigran Manukyan, who was on hunger strike, discussed the issues he raised in relation to the administration of the penitentiary institution, after which Tigran Manukyan decided to end the hunger strike. 

 

Earlier, on August 9, Vardan Geravetyan ended the hunger strike, and on August 7 Vardges Gevorgyan did so.

 

The representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office once again examined their medical records. Discussions were held with the medical personnel of the penitentiary institution concerning their health condition and supervision over it.

 

For the purpose to secure the rights of persons on hunger strike specific work principles are required. Their detention conditions of persons on hunger strike are under constant attention of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
