The project on "Strengthening the Application of European Human Rights Standards in the Armed Forces in Armenia" was a good platform for familiarizing interested state bodies with the experience of the Council of Europe member states. The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan noted this during the conference entitled "Human Rights and the Army".
He emphasized that the protection of human rights in the Armed Forces is one of the important priorities of his activities․
"Human rights protection in the Armed Forces is implemented in three directions: Protection of the rights of conscripts before they begin their military service, protection of the rights of military servicemen during their service, and protection of the rights of former military servicemen after the completion of the military service. We attach great importance to the protection of the rights of military servicemen and their families, " noted the Human Rights Defender.
Arman Tatoyan also presented his practice on special submissions to the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers regarding the rights of military servicemen.
