Today, upon the assignment of the Human Rights Defender, the Defender’s representatives once again visited the detained person who started a hunger strike for 39 days and was in the civil hospital under medical supervision.
The Defender’s representatives had a private interview with the detainee and his wife and examined his medical documents.
The detainee mentioned that he still continues the hunger strike and suffered abdominal pain at night, yet he still refused to take a blood test prescribed by the doctor.
As a result of the Defender's representatives work, and in cooperation with the medical staff of the civilian hospital, the detainee agreed to receive conservative treatment. The latter is under constant medical supervision.
It should be noted that after the last visit, during the private interview with the Defender's representatives the detainee noted that he would stop the hunger strike after the prosecutor's visit, but did not stop after the interview with the prosecutor who supervises the lawfulness of the application of the punishment.
