A Citizen was Exempted from Obligatory Military Service through the Defender’s Support

A conscript’s father applied to RA Human Rights Defender, asking to support his son in undergoing additional medical examination and determining his son’s suitability for military service.

The Applicant informed that three different medical centers, including the Central Clinical Military Hospital, found cerebral mass formation in his son’s cerebrum.

The staff of the Human Rights Defender’s Office initiated examination of the matter. Eventually, as a result of joint efforts by RA Ministry of Justice and the Human Rights Defender’s Office, the conscript was admitted to a military hospital in order to undergo stationary medical examination and treatment.

After all the necessary medical examinations and consultations by medical specialists had been completed, the Central Military-Medical Committee of the Ministry of Defense decided to find the conscript not suitable for military service and register him in reserve defense forces.
