Today, the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan had a meeting with Arja Makkonen, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to Armenia (residence in Helsinki) and with the Ambassador Anne Lammila. During the meeting a number of issues related to the protection of the human rights were discussed.
Arman Tatoyan introduced to the Ambassador the regulations of the new constitutional Law on the Human Rights Defender and foreseen plans for the implementation of the Law.
In turn, the Ambassador underlined the importance of the Ombudsman's activities and expressed her willingness to expand the spheres of cooperation between the two institutions.
The parties have gained an agreement to continue the active cooperation in a number of priority spheres through organization and implementation of mutual programs and events.
