Today the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia received head of the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe Natalia Voutova.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide scope of issues, related to the agenda and priorities of cooperation between the Ombudsman institute and the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe. They touched upon the joint cooperation in prevention of ill-treatment in detention facilities, arrangement of medical assistance in such areas, discussed issues, related to prevention of domestic violence.
Ms. N. Voutova, stressing the importance of the role of Ombudsman’s institute in protection of human rights and freedoms, expressed readiness to continue and enlarge projects, implemented within the framework of bilateral cooperation.
Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan highly evaluated the role and practical activities of the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe and said that he is ready for cooperation in human rights protection and initiation of further joint projects.
