From early morning the Human Rights Defender’s Office receives calls that due to the closure of streets and bridges people could not realize their right to healthcare and other vitally important rights. These calls are about the difficulties of getting medical assistance, of reaching apartments or homes, work places, etc.
The steps taken by the Defender's Office, aimed at protecting rights of these people, show that the closure of streets and bridges resulted in serious difficulties or obstacles to the competent authorities in performing their duties.
It is extremely concerning that demonstrators stop, check ambulance cars and only afterwards allow, upon their own discretion, to move. The Human Rights Defender’s Office receives calls that doctors are unable to reach to patients due to the closure of streets.
It is concerning that schoolchildren, including apparently elementary schoolchildren, are used as in front of cars for closing city streets and highways.
