Today, the presentation of the Armenian translation of "Guidelines to respect, protect and fulfil the rights of the child in the digital environment" was held.
At the opening of the ceremony children personally inquired from the specialists how to protect themselves on the internet, since parents look after them at school, in the yard, but often forget to track them on the Internet.
“The environment of Innovative technologies has a great impact on the lives of children in many aspects, creating opportunities and risks for their rights and wellbeing. For that purpose, it is of high importance to take into account the best interests of the child in each case”, noted Dr. Arman Tatoyan during the discussion organized jointly by the Human Rights Defender's Office, Save the Children, Kaspersky Lab and the Council of Europe in Yerevan.
Guidelines to respect, protect and fulfil the rights of the child in the digital environment were adopted recently by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and contain recommendations for all the member states of the Council of Europe and useful, thematic guides.
During the event the report was presented by Julia Sziklay, expert at the Ad hoc Committee for the Rights of the Child of the Council of Europe.
