New criminal proceedings were instituted based on the violations recorded by the Defender in psychiatric establishments

Two more criminal cases were instituted based on the ad hoc public report of the Human Rights Defender on violations in psychiatric establishments.

 

According to the official letter addressed to the Human Rights Defender by the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, a criminal case was initiated against the officials of the “Vardenis Psychoneurologic Social Care Home” State Non-Profit Organization for embezzlement in large amount. In the framework of the criminal case, respective official of the State Non-Profit Organization were accused.

 

Another criminal case was initiated against the “National Centre for Mental Health Care” CJSC (previously, “Nubarashen” Psychiatric Center) for large-scale embezzlement.

 

As a reminder, earlier another criminal case was initiated for the cases of providing paid services in psychiatric establishments, recorded by the Office of the Human Rights Defender.

 

The RA Investigative Committee conducts preliminary investigation of all these criminal cases.
