The Defender’s representatives conducted unannounced visits to penitentiary institutions.
On July 25 the representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office conducted unannounced visits to Abovya and Hrazdan penitentiary institutions of the RA Ministry of Justice.
The detention conditions of persons deprived of liberty, the state of their rights’ protection and compliance with the requirements, as well as the documents related to the complaints have been examined.
The representatives of the Defender’s Office held private interviews with persons deprived of liberty, discussed the issues raised by them and provided necessary legal consultation.
Based on the results of the visit, measures will be undertaken to address the recorded issues within the mandate of the Defender.
