The Defender presented the results of the fact-finding activities in Tavush region to the Head of Delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia

Today, the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, received the Head of Delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRS) in Armenia Claire Meytraud and the Coordinator at the Protection Unit of the same organization Zurab Burduli.

 

The Defender congratulated the newly-appointed Claire Meytraud on assuming an important mission and emphasized the high level of cooperation and trust-based relations with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

 

During the meeting issues with regard to expanding the cooperation were discussed. In particular, organization of joint discussions aimed at guaranteeing human rights in penitentiary institutions, exchange of information, etc.

 

Arman Tatoyan presented the information obtained during the recent fact-finding activities on the shootings towards civilian population in the borderline villages of Tavush region and raised a number of issues related to Karen Ghazaryan, who is in captivity in Azerbaijan.
