AGBU-funded English language training of RA Human Rights Defender’s staff facilitates development of international partnerships

As a result of a trilateral agreement signed in November 2016 by the RA Human Rights Defender, the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) and the American University of Armenia, more than 40 staff members at the Human Rights Defender’s office have participated in intensive English language training.

Within the scope of the educational program for staff members from various departments of the Human Rights Defender’s office, the American University of Armenia has paid particular attention to improving skills related to professional correspondence and conversation in English.

The Human Rights Defender highly appreciated the role played by AGBU in this staff training, as developing English communication skills has allowed its team to study and apply global experience to their work as well as to secure partnerships with international bodies.

AGBU Armenia President Vasken Yacoubian expressed confidence that the professional development of staff members at the Human Rights Defender’s office would help form a positive image of Armenia at the international level.

According to the agreement, the training will continue as a long-term activity.
