Today, on March 21, the Steering Committee Session of the EU Budget Support Program on the “Support to Human Rights Protection in Armenia” was held, to which the Human Rights Defender is a Co-Chair, together with RA Ministry of Justice and Head of EU Delegation to Armenia. Representatives of the Defender’s Office as well as representatives of state, international, and civil structures attended the Committee session.
During the session, a reference was made to the implementation of activities in the framework of the “Support to Human Rights Protection in Armenia” Financing Agreement signed between Armenian and the European Union.
In his speech, the Defender highlighted the importance of the society and its ongoing activities in all fields of human rights protection. In a more specific case, the torture prevention and other issues enshrined in the Project were discussed.
