The Defender met with future journalists

Today, on March 16, third-grade students, accompanied with lecturers, from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Service of Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences visited RA Human Rights Defender’s Office. Arman Tatoyan presented the Defender’s working principles and directions, referred to the importance of journalists’ activities.

 

 “A journalist’s work is crucial in a democratic society. It has public importance and is one of the important guarantees of public supervision over public entities. It is due to a journalist’s activities that every member of the society gets an opportunity to follow implementation of public function by a given entity”, said Arman Tatoyan.

 

He encouraged the journalists to direct their professional activities into contributing to the development of the institution of journalists in our country, as well as to the strengthening of democracy.
