Today Head of Division for Protection of Human Rights in the Criminal Justice and Armed Forces at RA Human Rights Defender’s Office, Hrachya Palyan received the Delegation headed by Georgette Gagnon, Director of the Field Operations and Technical Cooperation Division of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Hrachya Palyan greeted the members of the Delegation. Among them were Hulan Tsedev, Chief of Europe and Central Asia Section of OHCHR, Dragan Lalosevic, from the same Section, Jose Maria Aranaz, Chief of the Americas, Europe and Central Asia Branch and Vladimir Shkolnikov, Senior Human Rights adviser of the OHCHR Tbilisi Office.
During the meeting, the directions of the Human Rights Defender’s activities were presented, measures undertaken in the field of torture prevention were discussed, etc.
The participants highlighted the importance of cooperation with the Human Rights Defender’s institution, as well as its role in improvement of the Armenian legal system.
