On May 6, the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia Judith Farnworth.
During the meeting the parties discussed questions related to the framework and priorities of cooperation between the Ombudsman’s institution and the UK Embassy, including a number of questions regarding protection of the rights of children and people with disabilities, and prevention of ill-treatment.
Emphasizing Human Rights Defender’s role, Ms. Farnworth assured that she will continue supporting, within her competence, the activities of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, as well as enhancing close partnership between the Ombudsman and the UK Embassy.
The Defender Arman Tatoyan appreciating the role and activities of the UK Embassy in Armenia, expressed readiness to cooperate with the Embassy and undertake joint projects aimed at protecting human rights.
